Win $20 cash - just by finding links!
We'd like to have as many QR codes as possible on our books. SO... During Teen Tech Week (Mon, Mar. 19- Fri, Mar. 23), email Mrs. Bogle with links to short online videos that promote one of the books in our library. For every link that is accepted as useable in our library, your name will be entered into a drawing for $20. And yes, you may send as many links as you'd like. The drawing will be held Monday, March 26th and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, March 27th.
Want to participate?
* Find a short online video (approximately 15 seconds to 2 minutes long) that promotes a book in our library
* Copy and paste the link into http://www.qurify.com/en/
* Click Qurify!
* Download the QR code image that is created. (Download it as a JPG and change the name of the image from "qurified_message.jpg" to "the_name_of_your_book.jpg" (Example: the_hunger_games.jpg )
* By Sunday, March 25th, email Mrs. Bogle at firstname.lastname@example.org and attach the QR code JPG file to the email.
Use your phone (or our scanning station) to learn more about our books
We are beginning to add QR codes to the backs of some of our books. Why? Because with a QR reader app on your iPhone, Droid, or iPad, you can see a video telling you what the book is about.
Bring any library book with the code to the scanning station at the front desk. Scan the code under the camera, and enjoy watching your 60 second video telling you about the book.
Do you want to do the scanning on your own phone? If you have the right kind of phone or iPad and want the app, then...

So what exactly is a QR code?
It's a barcode that you can scan with your phone or iPad, and it will take you to a specific webpage. If you have a QR reader app, scan the sample QR code above to give it a try!
